Large Circle by Emma Johnstone - Beige/Grey

Emma Johnstone is a contemporary ceramicist who creates work using the dramatic firing process of raku. Each vessel or wall-piece is hollow-thrown, then raku-fired and gilded with yellow gold, white gold, or copper leaf. The firing and finishing process means that no two pieces are exactly the same.

Emma’s ceramic art explores the tension between the dramatic, intense, fast-firing technique of raku and the “aesthetic possibilities of elemental qualities and shapes”. For over fifteen years, she has been creating a range of work reflecting iconic and ancient forms. Examples of this beautiful work can be seen in the Godolphin Arms Hotel, Marazion collection, having been commissioned and installed by Art Eye.

Each piece is made to order and measures 30cm in diameter. Please contact us for a shipping quote upon ordering, as the cost/ time-frame depends upon your location and number of items ordered. Items are usually ready for despatch within 4-5 weeks.
